Books

At this stage of my career it is probably best to look at what books are soon to be released!

I am a long time admirer of the likes of Sir Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams and their satirical/anarchic look at humanity through their imagined worlds. Having dipped my toes into the world of Fantasy with my novel, Tahira The Elemental, I wanted to challenge myself as an author. Could I even dare hope, to cling onto their coat tails, and tell a story through an equally sardonic lens?

So with my lofty ambitions held in check I set about writing a story I wanted to read.
Rock is a world very similar to ours. It has lots of humans who think they are better then anyone else or any other species for that matter. They have learned however not to voice that particular opinion too loudly, and certainly not, in the presence of several other, and potentially more dangerously intelligent species, including the goblins, gremlins and fairy folk.

They also realised that the worshipping of gods was a life limiting exercise, especially for the true believers. The idea that one god is better than another god proved to be quite problematic in Rock's early history. That doesn't mean of course that these eternals don't like to test the water from time to time, they are immortal after all and with an awful lot of time on their hands.
The Keyholder's Apprentice
(Release Summer 2025)

Teleportation. Telepathy. Sabre rattling duels in corsets. Just another day on planet Rock.

After a night of one-too-many pints, three friends stumble into a portal and vanish to another world. Johnny, the last to leap, arrives just 24 hours later—only to discover he's a full year behind. Welcome to Rock: a fantastical, dysfunctional dimension where music isn’t just life—it’s a lethal, soul-stealing addiction.

Armed with sarcasm, a stolen jetpack, and questionable telepathic powers, Johnny sets off on a rescue mission across a world gone mad. Along the way, he tangles with flying vampire banshees, witches with a flair for Jane Austen cosplay, an undead Doctor Death, drag queens with royal secrets, and the Rock Gods themselves—musclebound megastars whose killer concerts are literally that.

As the world teeters on the edge of apocalyptic absurdity, Johnny must rally a ragtag rebellion of misfits, orphans, and glitter-slinging rebels for the ultimate showdown: a Battle of the Bands where the fate of an entire planet will be decided by pop songs, pride parades, and one very badly dressed king.

A riotous mix of Terry Pratchett-style satire, Douglas Adams-level absurdity, and classic rock nostalgia, The Keyholder's Apprentice is a laugh-out-loud comic fantasy about friendship, freedom, and fighting fascism with glitter.

Perfect for fans of:
✅ Comic fantasy & humorous sci-fi
✅ Parodies & satire with heart
✅ Genre-bending adventures full of chaotic fun
✅ Spoofs of rock culture, royalty, and revolution
